ಡಾ. ಗಂಗೂಬಾಯಿ ಹಾನಗಲ್ ಸಂಗೀತ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಕ ಕಲೆಗಳ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಮೈಸೂರು ಇವರೊಡನೆ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ನಾಟಕ ರೆಪರ್ಟರಿ ಕಲಾಕುಲ್ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದ ರಂಗ ತರಬೇತಿ ಡಿಪ್ಲೋಮಾ ಕೋರ್ಸ್ ಆರಂಭಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು.

ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ದಿಗ್ಗಜ ಮಾಂಡ್ ಸೊಭಾಣ್ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ರಂಗಭೂಮಿಗೆ ಮಹತ್ತರ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡಿದೆ. ‘ಕಲಾಕುಲ್’ ಕೊಂಕಣಿಯ ಏಕಮಾತ್ರ ನಾಟಕ ರೆಪರ್ಟರಿಯನ್ನು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿ, ಆಧುನಿಕ ನಾಟಕಗಳನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಿದ ಕೀರ್ತಿ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಲ್ಲುತ್ತದೆ. ಕಳೆದ 13 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಖಾಸಗಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ರಂಗಭೂಮಿ ಡಿಪ್ಲೋಮಾ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಇದುವರೆಗೆ ನೂರಾರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಈ ಡಿಪ್ಲೋಮಾ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸುಮಾರು ೫೦ ನಾಟಕ, ಕಿರುನಾಟಕಗಳ 250 ಕ್ಕೂ ಮಿಕ್ಕಿ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಗಳು ದೇಶ ವಿದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಿವೆ.

ಮಾಂಡ್ ಸೊಭಾಣ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ‘ಕಲಾಂಗಣ’ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕೇಂದ್ರವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಅನನ್ಯ ಬಯಲು ರಂಗ ಮಂದಿರದೊಡನೆ, ರಂಗ ತರಬೇತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸವಲತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಉಪಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ. ನಾಗೇಶ್ ವಿ. ಬೆಟ್ಟಕೋಟೆ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ತಂಡ ಆಗಮಿಸಿ, ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿದ ಬಳಿಕ ಕಲಾಕುಲ್ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದ ರಂಗ ತರಬೇತಿ ಡಿಪ್ಲೋಮಾ ನಡೆಸಲು ಅನುಮೋದನೆ ನೀಡಿದೆ. ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಆಡಳಿತ ಸಮಿತಿ ರಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅದು ಸಭೆ ಸೇರಿ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಿ ಸೂತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿದೆ. ಅದರಂತೆ ಸೂಕ್ತ ತಯಾರಿ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದು, ಎನ್‌ಎಸ್‌ಡಿ ಮತ್ತು ರಂಗಾಯಣದಿಂದ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು.

ಜುಲೈ 01 ರಿಂದ ಆರಂಭವಾಗುವ 2024-25 ನೇ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ಈ ರಂಗ ತರಬೇತಿ ಡಿಪ್ಲೋಮಾ ಕೋರ್ಸನ್ನು ಆರಂಭಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಪಿಯುಸಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಹತೆ ಹೊಂದಿದ ಯಾವುದೇ ಮಾತೃಭಾಷಿಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಈ ಡಿಪ್ಲೋಮಾ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಅರ್ಹರಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದ ಎರಡು ಸೆಮಿಸ್ಟರ್‌ನ ಈ ಕೋರ್ಸ್ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮತ್ತು ಇಂಗ್ಲೀಷ್ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ. ಅಂತಿಮ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯವೇ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದು ಪೂರ್ಣಕಾಲೀಕ ಕೋರ್ಸ್ ಆಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಕೋರ್ಸ್ ಪಡೆದವರಿಗೆ ಶಾಲೆ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ರಂಗ ತರಬೇತಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರಾಗಿ ದುಡಿಯಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ಲಭಿಸಲಿದೆ. ಅಗತ್ಯವುಳ್ಳವರಿಗೆ ಹಾಸ್ಟೆಲ್ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯವಿದೆ.

Kalakul: One-year Diploma Course in Theatre Training

A one-year theatre training diploma course will be started at Konkani Drama Repertory Kalakul, Mangaluru, which has entered into an M.O.U. with Dr Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University, Mysuru.

Mandd Sobhann, a doyen of Konkani culture, has contributed immensely to Konkani Theatre. It is credited with starting Kalakul - the only Theatre repertory of Konkani, and creating and staging modern plays. Through Kalakul, Mandd Sobhann has been undertaking Konkani Diploma privately for the last 13 years and hundreds of students have received this diploma so far. More than 250 performances of about 50 plays and short plays have been staged across India and abroad.

Mandd Sobhann has set up a cultural centre 'Kalangann', which has all the necessary facilities for theatre training and research, along with a unique Amphitheatre. After the visit and inspection by the team led by Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof Nagesh V Bettakote, Kalakul was approved to conduct of a one-year Diploma in Theatre Training. On the directions of the university, a governing body was formed, which met and formulated the academic guidelines. Preparations have been done in accordance and Graduates of NSD and Rangayana will be appointed as lecturers.

The diploma course will be started from the academic year 2024-25 commencing from July. Student of any language with at least PUC qualification is eligible to get this diploma and this one year course of two semesters will be held in Kannada and English. The final exam will be conducted by the university. This is a full-time course and makes the graduates eligible to work as Theatre Teachers in schools and colleges. Hostels are available for those in need.
